An Cliseam is the highest of the hills on Harris, indeed the high point of the Outer Hebrides. But it has the shortest ascent route. The car parking is high an the hill summit is a short distance away. Nevertheless the walk is worth it for the views on all directions. This is an out an back route although there are lots of areas to explore in this part of Harris.

From the parking climb the slopes of Sron Carsacleit. From here walk to the bealach south of An Cliseam then it is a climb straight to the summit. The route is made much easier due to the relatively high parking. Once at trig point at the summit spend a while looking around taking in the views of much of the Isles of Harris and Lewis and if conditions allow much beyond. (2.5kms. 650m. 2hrs. 10min.)

The return route is back down the hill in the same way as uphill. Whilst there is famliarity of the woking the way down does give better views south down to much of the Isle of Harris. Soon you are back at the parking by the road. (2.5kms. 50m. 0hrs. 50min.)
