Leave the car park and walk up the road to the village.
There is a sign here pointing to the Pennine Way; take this path.
It ascends and then descends as it contours through the fields finally arriving at
Upper Booth.
Follow the track up the River Noe valley to reach a pleasant bridge at the bottom of
Jacobs Ladder.
Jacobs Ladder is a well made path that climbs steeply from the valley to the col
between Brown Knoll and Kinder Low, just below Swine's Back.
Follow Jackobs Ladder to this col.
Then turn right and follow the path past Swine's Back, Edale Rocks, and onto Kinder
Low.
This has been the Pennine Way all the way from Edale to Kinder Low.
(6.5kms. 400m. 2hrs. 40min.)
From Kinder Low, the Pennine Way continues north towards Kinder Downfall.
This route now follows the southern edge of Kinder.
From Kinder Low there is a small, but distinct path, south, that cuts off the corner
back to Edale Rocks, and goes directly to the path around Kinder.
Once at this main path turn left and follow this path all the way along the southern
Kinder edges to Ringing Roger,
On the way the path passes many interesting rock formations.
The first of which is the solitory rock known as Noe Stool.
To the right of the first crop of rocks is to be found Pym's chair.
It is worth wandering around these rocks to north side to see Pym's Chair.
Once back on the main path the Wool Packs are set out, an interesting field of stones
on the edge of Kinder - fantastic sight.
Now the path goes on to go around the top of the Crowden valley with Crowden Tower
at the top.
The next valley is Grindsbrook with Grindsbrook Knoll over to the right.
Here, take care to take the left path around Grindsbrook and not over to Grindsbrook
Knoll.
Continue along the edge to Ringing Rodger passing Upper Tor and Nether Tor on the way.
There is a pile of stones below the ridge marking the start of the Ringing Roger ridge.
Descend to the cairn of stones that marks the Ringing Roger ridge.
Then follow the path contouring around the ridge to reach the top of Ringing Roger.
Follow the path down, which is initially steep down from the crags but soon eases
until the final steep descent to Grindsbrook.
Cross the bridge to reach Edale village and then down the road back to the car park.
