Oireabhal is central of the three Fionas in the north Harris estate. It is the high point on the ridge that goes from the sea (at the parking) north to the famous cliffs of Ston Uladale. This walk climbs steeply onto the north - south ridge to reach the summit and then continues along the ridge until there is a less steep descent into Gleann Chliostair. From here the track take the walker back to the road. The views all along the ridge are great and making the route an enjoyable experience in the right weather conditions. Arguably the views south are better then north so keep looking back.

From the parking walk back along the road east to the hamlet of Claismol. Best to get the road walk first, rathe than at the end of the walk. At the hamlet you are at the bottom of the nprth south ridge of Oireabhal. Climb up the steep hillside to reach Cleiseabhal with the trig point. Now follow the ridge north to reach the high point of Oireabhal. There are great views along this ridge, looking south over to South Harris and the island of Taransay. (6.0kms. 650m. 3hrs. 10min.)

Continue north along the ridge to the northern top of Ulabhal and then onto the smoother grassier and wider ridge towards Muildal. from the col just prior to Muildal descend the western slopes aiming for the western slopes of Loch Aiseabhat. Walk around the north of the loch and gain the path in Gleann Chliostair. Follow this path of the east of Loch Chloistar and then at the dam meet the track. Follow this track back to the road. (8.0kms. 100m. 2hrs. 30min.)
