Tiorga Mor is the most westerly of the three Fionas in North Harris. It lies in some rough ground north of Loch A Siar. Luckily there are a few tracks to make the round of this walk easier than it might be. As with many of these hills in the Outer Hebrides there are fantastic views so you need to leave the climb to day with good visibility.

From the parking walk up the track which passes a fish farm and then goes onto the power station. Continue until the dam of Loch Chliostair. Turn left, north west, just short of the dam and climb to the flatter ground and then over to the south east ridge of Tiorga Mor. Follow this ridge to the summit of Tiorga Mor with the trig point. There are great views all around from this vantage point. (5.5kms. 650m. 3hrs. 0min.)

From the summit continue along the ridge north west to descend to the Braigh Bheagarais. From the lochan descend the west back of the small stream - Abhainn Braigh Bheagarais - until the stalkers track down Gleann leosaid. Follow this down to the valley, finally walking down the track to te roadside. (7.5kms. 50m. 2hrs. 20min.)

20th June 2025 I hope to get this walk done on my visit to the Isle of Harris.
